HotelTonight – Book Your Parkside Buffalo Hotel Today

As one of Buffalo's most desirable neighborhoods, Parkside tends to be a particularly popular destination among visitors. Since I love history, beautiful old architecture and public parks, Parkside seemed like the perfect neighborhood to call my home away from home during my trip to Buffalo. Because my trip was rather spur-of-the-moment, I decided to rely on HotelTonight to find a great last-minute hotel in Parkside. In just a few minutes on the HotelTonight app, I had found a fantastic hotel near Parkside, so I was ready to hit the ground running and explore this beloved Buffalo neighborhood for myself.

Delaware Park

Parkside gets its name from Delaware Park, the most famous park in Buffalo. Designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Delaware Park is Buffalo's version of Central Park (which Olmsted also designed), so you can bet that it's full of beautiful scenery and lovely walking paths. This sprawling park is the reason why Parkside is such a desirable place to live, and the park itself is home to the Buffalo Zoo, the Parkside lodge and Hoyt Lake. When Buffalo locals want to go for a picnic, walk through the beautiful Japanese gardens, or even spend a morning golfing, they head to Delaware Park.

Main Street

Full of art centers and popular restaurants, Main Street offers some of the best dining and entertainment options in Parkside. This main commercial avenue is home to a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as the Buffalo Arts Studio and the Buffalo City Ballet Company. So if you want to see the more artistic side of Buffalo, including the city's performing arts scene, this is a great street to explore. And, of course, there are plenty of great eats on this street, and you can bet that I enjoyed several delicious meals on Main Street during my short stay in Buffalo.

Historic Architecture

Given Parkside's historic roots, it's no surprise that this neighborhood is full of beautiful old buildings. The most notable historic building in the neighborhood is the Martin House Complex, designed by the visionary Frank Lloyd Wright. Comprised of five buildings, this sprawling prairie house was built over 100 years ago, yet it still feels like a progressive design. Architecture lovers travel far and wide to see this FLW masterpiece, so I definitely didn't want to miss it during my stay in Parkside.
