HotelTonight – Florida Hotels in a Few Swipes

When I take a vacation, I do everything I can to get away from everything that stresses me out as much as possible. That includes getting away from things like schedules, itineraries and planning details to the most minute degree ahead of time. I like to be free to roam and explore and I love it when I can just let the road lead me wherever it goes. I decided to take a vacation not too long ago, and since it was wintertime I decided that a good place to go and wander for a few days would be Florida. I hadn't ever spent much time there, but I knew enough about it to know basically where I should start. I would land in Miami and work my way north. Just in case, I also thought I should see if there was a resource out there that would help me find a Florida hotel room in case I needed one at the last minute.

Since I knew I'd have my phone with me wherever I was, I grabbed it and searched for apps that help people with this challenge. I found one called HotelTonight and searched for Florida hotels. I found a large number of them, which was reassuring. I was also impressed with the quality of the listings and the reasonable rates that were being asked. I booked a room for the first night, and I could not believe how fast and easy it was to get that done. I was all set--I was off to Florida and I had a way to rent a hotel room in Florida if I needed to do so. I started researching interesting facts about the Sunshine State, as that's a good way for me to at least loosely get an idea of what I want to see.

Florida and Enormous Reptiles

As I mentioned, I started my journey in Miami, and since I had seen the city before, I wanted to get out and see some wildlife. You'll get your money's worth when you do that in Florida. I went out to the Everglades and learned something quite interesting as I looked at alligators and crocodiles in the same day. South Florida is the only place on the planet where these two species coexist. Usually, crocodiles live in saltwater and alligators prefer fresh, but that's not always the case here. It really didn't matter that much to me, as they were both beautiful, from a safe distance.

Florida and Amish Vacationers

When you travel through Florida, especially in populate areas, you're spending time in an extremely modern place. That's why when I got near Sarasota I had to go and see for myself if what I had heard was real. I had been told that the neighborhood of Pinecraft was a beachfront area where Amish folks liked to come and enjoy the sun. It turns out that this is true. I walked around here for a bit and even bought some unique gifts for family members. It was a neat place and one that I'm glad I got to see firsthand.

Florida and White Sand

As long as I was in the area, I decided to pop over to Siesta Key. This is the quintessential Florida vacation spot, as there are restaurants and bars everywhere. I was most interested in the beach, however, as I had read that it is where you'll find the whitest beach sand in the world. I got there and saw how white it was--it looked like salt and it was not hot under your feet despite the presence of direct sunlight. I found some literature that stated that it was in fact as white as sand gets, and it's believed to be the whitest on the planet.

Florida Really Is Golf Heaven

I like to golf from time to time, and I'm really glad I brought my clubs to Florida. And why wouldn't I have done so? You really can't go anywhere without seeing a top-end course, and according to statistics there are more golf courses in Florida than in any other state in the country. I could have spent a month here and never seen the same hole twice, which was actually what some of my playing partners were in the process of doing when I shared a round with them.

HotelTonight – Florida Hotels Are Available

As I made my way back to Miami for my flight home, I realized that it had been quite an adventure. I had seen things in Florida that I never knew existed and I had made the most of my free time by wandering from place to place and meeting interesting people. I also made use of HotelTonight quite a bit, as it was always ready to help me find a hotel room in Florida when I needed one. It had been the vacation I had hoped it would be.
