HotelTonight – Jacksonville Hotels You'll Love

The city of Jacksonville may not draw as many visitors as other popular Florida destinations like Miami and Orlando, but this city definitely deserves some recognition on the vacation front. Jacksonville is a lively city that sits along a beautiful river, and it's a destination that offers something for every type of traveler. Your Jacksonville vacation can be filled with relaxation and sunshine, or it can be filled with adventure and entertainment. I chose a bit of a both during my recent trip to Jacksonville, and I had a blast exploring this fun Florida city. To book my hotel in Jacksonville, Florida, I simply checked out the HotelTonight app on my phone. HotelTonight has become my go-to resource for booking hotels when I travel, as it makes it easy and convenient to find last-minute hotels all from my phone. In just a matter of minutes on the HotelTonight app, I had booked the perfect Jacksonville hotel for my Florida adventure.

Downtown

Downtown is the heart of Jacksonville's social and entertainment scene, which is why I was glad to stay in a hotel in central downtown. The urban core of Jacksonville is where you'll find many of the city's main attractions, including museums, top-rated restaurants, and, of course, sports. The city's NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, plays at the Sports Complex downtown, and so do minor league baseball and football teams like the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Jacksonville Sharks and the Jacksonville IceMen. If you love the energy and culture of a sports city, you'll find plenty to enjoy about Jacksonville.

Amelia Island

After spending the good part of a day exploring all of the attractions in downtown Jacksonville, I decided to venture out of the urban core and explore one of the area's more laidback destinations, Amelia Island. This idyllic, relaxed community features thirteen miles of beautiful beaches, as well as several historic sites and a charming little downtown area. Amelia Island feels like a world away from the bustling downtown Jacksonville, but it's only a short drive away. Exploring this town was one of my favorite parts of visiting Jacksonville, and I would return to Amelia Island in a heartbeat.

Atlantic Beach

Jacksonville may not be known as a beach town, but it's certainly in close proximity to some beautiful Florida beaches, such as Atlantic Beach. Just sixteen miles outside of Jacksonville is Atlantic Beach, a breathtaking beach boasting fine, white sand and clear blue water. Locals recommended I visit this beach while in town, and I was grateful they did. After all, I didn't want to travel all the way to Florida without experiencing some of the best beaches in the country.

Riverside Arts Market

I was so glad I was in Jacksonville over a weekend, because I got to explore the Riverside Arts Market. This weekly outdoor arts market takes place on Saturdays in downtown Jacksonville, and hundreds of vendors and craftspeople set up booths to sell their handmade goods and fresh produce. It's like a mixture of an art fair and a farmers market, and it's certainly the most popular activity in Jacksonville on Saturdays. I grabbed some delicious food for lunch, found several interesting handmade goods for my Jacksonville souvenirs, and even got to listen to some talented street performers.

Southbank Riverwalk

Jacksonville sits on the St. Johns River, and this river is the focal point for life in the city. Downtown sits along the riverfront, so naturally locals love taking advantage of the beautiful riverfront any way they can. I personally loved exploring the Southbank Riverwalk, which is a quarter-mile boardwalk that provides an excellent spot for running, walking, picnicking or just relaxing. There are many restaurants and cafes that line the riverfront, so finding a great spot to eat with a view of the river isn't hard. I felt like walking the Southbank Riverwalk helped me get a great idea for the laidback lifestyle of this Florida city, and it also helped me really grow to love the culture and the excitement of Jacksonville over the course of my short trip.

HotelTonight – Book Your Hotel in Jacksonville

If you're like I was prior to visiting the city, you may not know much about Jacksonville, other than the fact it's a city in Florida that has a football team. I came to learn a lot about Jacksonville, though, and I was so glad I chose to visit this city. I loved exploring the vibrant downtown area and wandering the quaint towns along the coast, and I really got a sense for the city's culture and lifestyle in just a few short days. I wouldn't have been able to plan such a fun and carefree trip to Jacksonville if it weren't for HotelTonight, which helped me book the perfect Jacksonville hotel downtown in minutes.
