HotelTonight – Book Your Corpus Christi Texas Hotel Today

There's a reason why Corpus Christi is nicknamed "Sparkling City by the Sea" – this coastal city is truly one of the prettiest gems in Texas. As a major port city and a bustling business hub, Corpus Christi is a great place to live, and locals love the city's vibrant energy and its beautiful location. There is so much to do and see in Corpus Christi that I didn't think three days would be enough for me to really get to know the city, but I was able to experience a lot of Corpus Christi's best offerings by doing one thing – exploring the city like a local. I asked many Corpus Christi locals their favorite areas of the city, and that way I got to really experience the authentic side of the town, not just the popular touristy side of the town. As soon as I decided to visit Corpus Christi, I pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone. Within minutes on the app, I had booked a great hotel near downtown Corpus Christi, and I was ready to really start exploring this South Texas coastal city like a local.

Bayfront

The Corpus Christi Bayfront is one of the most beloved areas of the city, primarily because it offers dazzling waterfront views and plenty of great dining and shopping. There are a number of great eateries surrounding the picturesque Corpus Christi Municipal Marina, so the Bayfront district is a fantastic place to go if you want oceanfront dining. Also, it's a popular place for locals to get out and get active, as there are some great waterfront paths where you can go running, walking and biking – all with spectacular views of the water.

SEA District

Corpus Christi's SEA District stands for the Sports, Entertainment and Arts District. Located downtown, the SEA District is where locals go to enjoy the best entertainment and arts in their city. In the SEA District, you'll find the Museum of South Texas, the Concrete Street Amphitheater and the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. And you'll also find the popular McGee Beach, which is a lovely little beach that is particularly popular among families because of its calm waters.

North Beach

North Beach is located on the other side of Harbor Bridge, and it's home to two of the city's most popular attractions, the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. It also happens to be a great place to eat and drink along the water, so I decided to visit North Beach for happy hour and the sunset one night, and I loved everything about this impressive district – especially its 1.5-mile long stretch of sparkling sandy beach and the lively Concrete Boardwalk. This is definitely where you want to be if you came to Corpus Christi to enjoy some sand, sea and sunshine.

Central

Since I wanted to see several different sides of Corpus Christi, I decided to venture to central Corpus Christi one day. This neighborhood is a much more local neighborhood, and that's why I loved it. Central Corpus Christi is a popular shopping area, as it features La Palmera mall and the Shops at La Palmera, but it's also an area known for its higher education. Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi is located in Central Corpus Christi, so exploring the area will give you a clearer perspective on the diversity of residents in this beautiful coastal city.

The Islands

While in Corpus Christi, it's hard to resist venturing out to the nearby islands, particularly Mustang Island and Padre Island. These spots are definitely the places to be if you want to get out of the city and immerse yourself in a little island paradise. There are wide, untamed beaches and beautiful natural scenery on both Mustang Island and Padre Island, which is why they are considered such popular beach destinations for Texans. I loved spending the afternoon on Mustang Island, and I was definitely glad I took the short trip from Corpus Christi to enjoy this relaxed, easygoing beach town.

Corpus Christi boasts a high quality of life, and its endless sunshine, beautiful beaches and vibrant downtown made me fall in love with the city.
