HotelTonight – Midtown Charlotte Hotels Near You

I love visiting Charlotte, North Carolina. It's one of those cities that is big in size but small in feel. I always felt at home there, even though I'm not from Charlotte or even that part of the United States. That's how the people there tend to welcome visitors. I looked forward to every opportunity to see this lovely place, but unfortunately there was a period of time when that didn't happen very often. Fortunately, the job I have now takes me to Charlotte on a relatively regular basis, so I was back in the swing of things with seeing more of it. What I do now is extend my business trips when possible by 24 hours. That allows me the opportunity to look around on my own time. I also limit my exploration to one neighborhood in the area per visit, as that removes any time-related pressure and prompts me to really get to know an area and the people who live there. I chose to explore Midtown on my most recent trip. I knew that my trusty HotelTonight app would find me a Midtown Charlotte hotel room as soon as I needed one, so that was not a concern.

The Greenway

Midtown Charlotte is basically the gateway neighborhood between downtown and the residential areas in the suburbs, but don't let that lead you to think that most people here are just passing through the community. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a thoroughfare that's about as unique as any I had ever seen. It's lined with all sorts of shops, restaurants and other businesses large and small, but it's also extremely quaint as you'd expect to see in a small town. You also get great views of downtown from just about anywhere on it.

The Farmer's Market

I happened to be there on a day when the Farmer's Market was open, and I considered myself fortunate. That's because this is not only a large market, but it's filled with much more than just beautiful produce and other homemade snacks. There are crafts and knickknacks everywhere, there are people playing music that adds to the atmosphere and children run around and play as though they are at some sort of amusement park. This farmer's market is a true expression of what Midtown Charlotte is as a community, and it was a pleasure to witness it.

The Cuisine

Finally, after all of that walking around and appreciating this community, I was ready to eat. I was told about an Italian restaurant that had been there for a long time and that was beloved by the locals. I decided to give it a try, and it was the perfect mom-and-pop place that didn't fool around with small portions or anything too fancy. My spaghetti with meatballs was pure perfection, and the wine that they served with it complimented the entire meal perfectly.

HotelTonight – Midtown Charlotte Hotels

I was extremely full and tired after a fun day, so it was time for my travel companion, HotelTonight, to do its job. I opened the app and it immediately showed me a list of Midtown Charlotte hotels near me based on my location. I chose one and made my way towards a relaxing evening.
