HotelTonight – Boston MetroWest Hotels in Minutes

After spending a week in Boston for work, I decided to venture outside of the city to get to know some of the surrounding towns. After all, I always love to see what life is really like for locals when I travel, and I figured there was no better way to do that than by visiting the MetroWest area of Boston. Located just west of Boston, MetroWest is comprised of several towns known for their quality of life and small town charm. Locals love living in MetroWest towns because they get the sense of a community and a more laidback atmosphere while still being close to the heart of Boston. I wanted to check out the towns of MetroWest for myself, so I pulled up my HotelTonight app and found a great Boston MetroWest hotel in just a few quick minutes.

State Parks

If you love the outdoors, you shouldn't stay in Boston when you're in New England. You should stay somewhere in MetroWest, which is teeming with gorgeous state parks where you can hike, camp and explore nature. One of the many reasons locals love living in MetroWest is because of its abundance of gorgeous natural scenery, and I was lucky enough to be able to explore some of the best state parks in the area, such as Callahan State Park, Cochituate State Park, Ashland State Park and Whitehall State Park. If you want to get outdoors and go boating, hiking, horseback riding and picnicking, there's plenty for you to explore in MetroWest.

The Arts

Upon first glance, MetroWest may seem like a quieter, suburban area compared to Boston, but the cities in MetroWest actually boast rich cultural and arts scenes. Towns like Natick, Framingham and Hopkinton all feature great performing arts schools and venues, and in MetroWest you can find everything from ballet to art galleries.

Historical Sites

Given its location in New England, there's no surprise that MetroWest is chock-full of historical sites. If you're interested in American history like I am, you're sure to find plenty of fascinating spots throughout MetroWest, such as the Concord Museum, which features some of the oldest and most important collections of colonial America, the Fairbanks House, the oldest timber-frame home in the country, Louisa May Alcott's house and so much more. I spent an entire day wandering through MetroWest to see all of the best historic sites in the area, and I didn't even get to see as many as I would have liked. Fortunately, there's always the next trip.
