HotelTonight – Back Bay Boston Hotels Available

Known for its picturesque Victorian brownstone houses and numerous historic monuments, the Boston neighborhood of Back Bay is considered one of the most appealing neighborhoods in the entire country. Due to its beautiful architecture, fantastic location and rich history, Back Bay is one of Boston's most expensive and desirable neighborhoods, and it's also one of the most fun to explore when you visit. During my recent trip to Boston, I was lucky enough to stay in Back Bay thanks to HotelTonight, which made it easy for me to book a Boston hotel at the very last minute. Once I had my hotel room booked in the coveted neighborhood of Back Bay, I set out to explore my temporary new neighborhood like a local.

Newbury Street

Back Bay is home to one of the country's most famous shopping streets--Newbury Street. Often compared to iconic shopping streets like Rodeo Drive and 5th Avenue, Newbury Street is the place to go if you want to shop the day away, or if you just want to experience one of the most glamorous shopping districts in the world. Newbury Street stretches for eight blocks, and this famous street boasts great restaurants, cafes and, of course, lots of shops. You'll find locals and tourists alike at Newbury Street, which you certainly won't want to miss during your time in Back Bay.

The Charles River

Back Bay sits on the Charles River, and the riverfront property in this neighborhood is some of the best in the entire city. On the edge of the Charles River, you will find Boston locals walking, running, and biking along The Esplanade, which is a scenic path that is greatly beloved by locals. While the brownstones and historic buildings throughout the Back Bay are indeed picturesque, there's nothing quite as beautiful or as calming as taking a leisurely stroll along the river.

The Public Gardens

The Boston Public Garden is situated in the heart of the city, and it's the oldest botanical garden in the country. With roots dating back to 1837, the Boston Public Garden is a historic gem, but it's also a great place to spot Boston locals going about their daily lives. This 24-acre garden is full of beautiful flowers and greenery, and it's the perfect spot to wind down with a picnic, a good book or some great friends. As I wandered through this public park, I found myself envying all of the locals enjoying themselves on that beautiful afternoon. They get to live in one of the coolest cities I've ever visited.
