Throughout my life, I have made several trips to Salt Lake City. Normally I will be in the city for a few hours and then leave. However, I recently found myself in Murray for an afternoon after a meeting had been canceled. Instead of heading back home, I decided to spend some time exploring Murray. With the HotelTonight app, I knew I wouldn't have a problem finding a place to stay, which left me free to enjoy a fun day in Murray.
The Area
Murray is located in the Wasatch Front and is at the heart of the Salt Lake Valley. The picturesque town is surrounded by mountains and the city is known for having many trees. It was designated a Tree City in 1977. The trees that are spread throughout Murray and the surrounding mountains make it one of the most scenic cities in the state. It is one of the most important parts of the Salt Lake area and is called the Hub of Salt Lake County. I quickly learned that there is so much to see and do in Murray, it truly is one of the best cities in Salt Lake County.
Things to Do
Murray is perfectly positioned to give people easy access to the outdoors. There are several hiking trails around the city and there are a lot of walking paths within the city limits. Murray also is home to several museums and historical places. I visited the Wheeler Historic Farm, which gives people a look at what farm life was like in the area at the turn of the century. In addition to that, Murray is home to several great stores and cafes. It seems that there is something to keep everyone entertained in Murray.
The Food
Whenever I visit a new area, I always like to try the best local food the town has to offer. So I asked several locals where the best place to get some food was and was pointed in the direction of a great little Mexican restaurant in town. The food was amazing, and the staff was really friendly as well. I started my meal off with chimichanga that had some of the most delicious sauce I've ever tasted. Then, I finished it off with a chocolate milkshake that tasted as if it had been homemade. Everything on the menu looked amazing, I can't wait to eat there again.

After a fun day spent exploring Murray a great dinner, I was ready to get some rest for the night. I know that sometimes it can be hard to book a hotel at the last minute, but thanks to the HotelTonight app, I didn't have to worry about it.
