HotelTonight – Downtown Fort Worth Hotels Near You

Fort Worth, Texas is one of those places that may exist somewhat in the shadow of its twin, but that doesn't mean that it's not one of the world's best cities in its own right. I have been traveling to North Texas for a long time now, and while most of my meetings have been in nearby Dallas, I always wanted to learn more about Fort Worth. Finally, on a recent business trip, I decided to do something about that question that had been gnawing at me. I booked my return flight for 24 hours after I finished my last meeting. That would give me an opportunity to do what I've wanted to do for years. I also promised myself to limit my exploration of Forth Worth to the downtown area, so I wouldn't feel any pressure to see or do too much. I wanted to dig in and talk to people so I could learn what life was like there. As far as lodging, I was covered with my HotelTonight app. It would find me a downtown Fort Worth hotel room in seconds when I was ready to get some sleep.

The Square

The proverbial heart of downtown Fort Worth is known as Sundance Square. What you see here is a little bit of everything. It's a shopping, dining and entertainment district that's been done the right way. You'll see incredibly modern buildings that are certainly only a few years old, but they'll stand right beside buildings that have been there for over 100 years and that have been maintained perfectly. Somehow, the people here have managed to fit all of these pieces together seamlessly, and as you walk around amidst old and new, it all feels completely comfortable and easy.

The Parks

One of the last things I expected to see in the downtown area of a bustling city like Fort Worth was much in the way of open, green space. That is, however, exactly what I saw while I was there. There were at least two parks in the area, and I spent time walking around in one of them, watching the people there chase their dogs and play with their kids as though they were in the middle of a Norman Rockwell painting. It was quite something to see, all this peace and quiet in such an urban setting.

The Food

You can't do Texas without going big on food, and if you're going big on food you may as well go big on barbecue. I asked some people at the park about barbecue, and they told me about this place that was unforgettable. They were right. The brisket I ate was most likely cooked for an entire day. It was so tender and smoky I may as well have been sitting next to the barbecue pit. I ate more than I should have, but that's because it was so good.

HotelTonight – Downtown Fort Worth Hotels

After such a great meal, I needed some rest. I opened my HotelTonight app and it showed me several choices for downtown Fort Worth hotel rooms. I chose one, reserved a room and was off for what I was sure was going to be a deep sleep.
