HotelTonight – Book Your Glen NH Hotel Today

Tucked away in the heart of the breathtaking White Mountains is the small village of Glen, New Hampshire. This small mountain town is the perfect home base for anyone looking to explore the great outdoors, because there's certainly no shortage of impressive nature everywhere you look around Glen. I recently took a trip to the northeastern U.S. to experience the beautiful fall foliage of the region. I live in big city in the desert, so the only way I get to see vibrant autumn colors is by hopping on a plane. That's how I ended up in Glen, New Hampshire. I wanted to immerse myself in nature, so I picked a spot on the map that I knew was resplendent with natural beauty, New Hampshire. To book my hotel in Glen, New Hampshire, I simply checked my HotelTonight app. Whenever I need to find a great last-minute deal on a hotel, I know I can find one on HotelTonight. Within minutes on the app, I had booked a lovely hotel near Glen, and I was ready to kick-start my New Hampshire getaway.

Bartlett

Glen is technically a village in the town of Bartlett, New Hampshire, so I spent a fair amount of time wandering through the quaint little mountain town of Bartlett during my trip. While Bartlett is particularly popular during the winter months when the ski resorts are open, it's a lovely place to visit year-round. This little mountain town is full of authentic alpine charm and beauty, and it's completely different from what I'm used to. It feels like there's never any stress here – just gorgeous nature and a welcoming, laidback community. Bartlett is now officially on my list for places to visit once ski season arrives.

Story Land

Certainly one of the biggest attractions in Glen and Bartlett is Story Land, a popular amusement park that is particularly suited for families. This fairy tale themed amusement park features a number of unique rides and attractions, and I felt like I was entering a different world when I visited Story Land. There are roller coasters, water rides and even miniature castles. While the thrill level isn't exactly high in Story Land, the creativity and fun factors are very high. It's the perfect place to take young children, as they'll feel as if they've fallen into one of their favorite storybooks.

The Flume Gorge

One of the primary reasons I chose to visit Glen was due to its location in the White Mountains. I wanted to enjoy the great outdoors and soak in all of the beautiful surrounding nature, so I chose to spend a great deal of time on hiking trails while in New Hampshire. One of my favorite New Hampshire adventures included the Flume Gorge, which is a natural gorge that features great hiking trails, granite walls, beautiful waterfalls, and an 800-foot gorge. At first, I couldn't put my camera down – there were just too many beautiful natural sights to capture. Finally, something clicked in me, and I put my camera away and just decided to be present and enjoy the beauty of nature all around me in person, not from behind a lens.

Glen Ellis Falls

Another one of my favorite sights in the White Mountain region was Glen Ellis Falls. Located in Pinkham Notch, this is a waterfall you won't want to miss while in the area. The powerful, 64-foot waterfall took my breath away, and the pretty turquoise pool beneath is looked like it belonged in a painting. Since I wanted to spend some time really enjoying this natural wonder, I brought a picnic and sat nearby so I could listen to the roar of these beautiful falls.

Kancamagus Highway

I couldn't see all of the White Mountains' beauty on foot, because I simply didn't have the time. Fortunately, I was able to get a great scope of the sheer magnitude of the White Mountains' beauty by driving the Kancamagus Highway. Widely considered the most scenic drive in the entire state of New Hampshire, this is a road I wouldn't skip when you're in the White Mountain Region. Plus, the road has several pull-off spots, which lead to great hiking trails, pretty pools of water, and even natural water slides.

HotelTonight – Last-Minute Hotels in Glen New Hampshire

I knew virtually nothing about Glen or Bartlett before my recent trip to New Hampshire, but I quickly fell in love with these little mountain towns. Don't expect these villages to be bustling with activity, though. The entertainment and activity of the towns isn't why people travel to this area of New Hampshire – they come for the great outdoors. I left New Hampshire feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and I already plan to return some day in the future. When I do, I'll book another Glen hotel through HotelTonight, and I'll be sure to pack my best hiking shoes.
