HotelTonight – Vernal Hotels at the Drop of a Hat
During a long drive through the state of Utah, I decided I needed a break and pulled over in the town of Vernal. I was excited to get out of the car and spend some time exploring the city of Vernal. I knew finding a place to stay, even on short notice, wouldn't be a problem thanks to the HotelTonight app, which left me free to spend the day seeing what the city of Vernal has to offer.
The Area
Located 20 miles west of the Utah-Colorado border, Vernal is the hub of Uintah County. The town is bordered by the Uintah Mountains, which are part of the Rocky Mountains and the beautiful Book Cliffs. The Green River runs through the city, making it a great place to visit for anyone who loves the outdoors. To some, the beauty of Vernal might not be apparent at first, but after spending a day in the city, it's easy to see that it is one of the most uniquely beautiful parts of the state. Deciding to break up my drive by spending the day in Vernal was a great decision.
Things to Do
There are a lot of great activities in Vernal, especially if you love the outdoors. I've always been a fan of nature and try to get out as often as I can, so I decided to take a hike on one of the trails surrounding the city. I went on a short hike and got a great taste of the rugged beauty of Vernal. I also noticed several ads for rafting trips. It seems like Vernal is the perfect spot to visit if you want to see all that mother nature has to offer. Then I headed back into town and visited a really cool and interesting dinosaur museum. There were several other fun activities in the city, and I could have spent several days seeing all that Vernal had to do.
The Food
After the hike and visiting the museum, I decided it was time to get something for dinner. I always like to try the best food a town has to offer, so I asked around and ended up heading to a wonderful cafe that came highly recommended. I ate a great meal and afterword decided to try their ice cream. It was some of the best ice cream I've ever had and that alone is just about worth a trip to Vernal.
