HotelTonight – Las Cruces Hotels Are Available

I drive constantly for work, as a traveling salesperson needs to be able to get from place to place quickly and efficiently. That's why I try to keep my driving between cities on the interstates if possible. That's definitely possible when I'm driving between El Paso and Albuquerque, as that's just a direct shot up or down Interstate 25. At this point, I can pretty much tell you exactly how much time I have left in my drive at almost any point on that road. That's a good thing, as it allows me to focus in on what I have to do when I get to my destination. My schedule is always tight, so I never have any time to meander or take a closer look at things. That all changed on my last trip there. I was driving north out of El Paso when I got a call telling me that my entire day of meetings had been canceled. Rather than continue to Albuquerque, I decided to explore Las Cruces, which was nearby. I wasn't worried about finding a place to stay, as I always travel with my HotelTonight app. I'd book a Las Cruces hotel room when I was ready.

The Agriculture

I was initially quite surprised to see how agricultural this smaller city actually is. Las Cruces sits on the border of the Chihuahuan Desert, so I didn't expect to see a lot of things growing or grazing when I got there. I was completely wrong. There were livestock farms all over the outskirts of town, and there were also a lot of fields growing crops. Perhaps the most surprising thing to me, however, was the number of beautiful, booming gardens that people were growing in their yards and just about anywhere else you could imagine.

The University

I have to admit that I'm always up for exploring a new college or university. I think these places offer a slice of life that you simply cannot experience in any other setting. Las Cruces is home to New Mexico State University, so I took a few hours of my day to walk around campus. It was a much bigger school than I expected, as more than 25,000 people are enrolled there. It's also a vibrant campus, as the students were out walking around happily on that beautiful day and there was just a lot going on. I had some great conversations with interesting young people.

The Dining

When I'm in this part of the country, I want some local food. A couple of students told me about such a restaurant, so I went there for dinner. I took a seat at the bar and ordered some fajitas, as I always find that sound of food searing entertaining. When the food came, I was blown away, as the meat was covered in fresh, local and delicious peppers and the sides of rice and beans were delicious. I ate happily, talking to some of the other patrons.

HotelTonight – Las Cruces Hotels Up the Road

I was full, happy and tired, so it was time for me to get some sleep. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Las Cruces hotel room in seconds. 20 minutes later, I was lying in my bed, satisfied with how the day had gone.
