Triadelphia is a tiny town in West Virginia that I recently discovered while driving through the state. With its distinctive name and petite town – it has a population of less than 1,000 – Triadelphia is certainly a place I won't forget anytime soon, especially since I decided to stay there overnight. Despite its small size, Triadelphia actually offers an impressive selection of shops. There are specialty shops, chocolate stores, antique stores and gift shops in Triadelphia, which is why this small town attracts people from nearby towns who are looking for a unique shopping experience. I was able to find some great souvenirs from my Triadelphia pit stop, as well as some fantastic antiques.
Ohio
Triadelphia is situated in an interesting location – it's a short drive away from both the Ohio border and the Pennsylvania border. In the morning, I decided to drive across the Ohio River and into a completely different state. Nearby Ohio towns that are easy to reach from Triadelphia include Martins Ferry, Bellaire and Bridgeport. I arrived in Martins Ferry in time to catch breakfast, so I found a cute local cafe and mingled with other locals – some of whom lived across the river in West Virginia, and others who lived in Ohio. It was the perfect way to start the day.
Pennsylvania
Later that afternoon, I decided to pop into Pennsylvania, since Triadelphia is located right across the Pennsylvania border. I loved that I could visit three states in one day, and I made the most of it by exploring some small towns in Pennsylvania. Later, I decided that since I was so close to Pittsburgh, it would be a shame if I didn't drive in for dinner while I was in the area. The drive from Triadelphia to Pittsburgh only takes an hour, and it's such a scenic drive so I was never bored.
