Since the 18th century, locals have loved living in Martinsburg, and that's just one of the many things I learned while exploring this West Virginia town.

Hiking

In addition to the charming town, Martinsburg is home to some great parks and public spaces, where you'll find locals exercising, socializing and simply enjoying the great outdoors. Both the Yankauer Nature Preserve and the Eastern Panhandle Recreational Trail offer great areas for hiking and basking in the beauty of nature. Since I had never spent much time in West Virginia prior to this trip, I was surprised to discover just how beautiful the state is. Everywhere you look in Martinsburg, you'll see greenery and natural beauty, which is yet another reason why its residents are so lucky.
