In the 1880s, discovery of gold brought hopeful settlers to this area of Washington State, and the town of Winthrop was born. Over the past century, Winthrop has not lost an ounce of its Western charm. In fact, the town has leaned into its heritage, and its main drag looks like a perfectly preserved old Western town. It's even home to the oldest saloon in the state, so spending just a couple of hours in this town will make you feel like you've stepped back in time to the Old West.
