HotelTonight – Hotel in Richland Washington Tonight

Richland is one of the Tri-Cities in Washington, and it's actually quite a popular weekend destination for Washington residents due to its beautiful wine country and its abundance of water sports. Richland is also well known for being home to the Hanford nuclear site, which is why it has earned the nickname, "Atomic City," so there's an interesting history here that I wanted to learn more about. I recently found myself stopping in Richland out of the blue. I knew very little about this Washington gem before I stumbled upon it, which is one of the reasons I decided to extend my stay. I wanted to learn more about Richmond and experience its distinctive culture, so I quickly pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone and began browsing the selection of Richland Hotels. A few minutes later, I had a hotel room waiting for me in the heart of Richland and was ready for my spur-of-the-moment Richland retreat.

The Rivers

Richland is located at the confluence of the Columbia and Yakima Rivers, which is why it's such a popular summer destination. The wide, beautiful Columbia River provides plenty of opportunities for water recreation, such as fishing, boating, water skiing, kayaking and more. Since I was in Richland during the summer, I rented a kayak and enjoyed the beauty of Richland from the water. In addition, Richland's long stretch of picturesque waterfront provides great areas for walking, running, biking and even picnicking.

Wineries

Wine lovers will love Richland, because this city is located in Washington's beautiful, fertile wine country, so there are plenty of wineries and tasting rooms to visit in the area. I knew I couldn't visit Richland without tasting some of the area's acclaimed wines, so I spent an afternoon hopping from one tasting room to another. By the time I left Richland, I really understood all the recent hype about Washington wines.

The Parkway

Considered Richland's downtown area, the Parkway is where locals go for great shopping, dining and community events. There's a little bit of everything in the Parkway, from hair salons to sushi restaurants to clothing boutiques. This is where you'll get a great sense for the local community, and I was glad that I stayed at a hotel near the Parkway while in Richland. I loved being able to walk to all of the best local eateries and shops, and I also loved being in the heart of the action during my short stay.
