HotelTonight – Renton Washington Hotels

Just 11 miles away from downtown Seattle is the beautiful city of Renton, an idyllic town located on the southeast shore of Lake Washington. Once known as a coal mining and timber city, Renton is now best known as the home for the Boeing 737 final assembly point, as well as for a number of other booming industries. Its strong economy and proximity to Seattle make Renton a desirable place to live in the Pacific Northwest, but still, not many visitors decide to explore Renton. Instead, they stick to the more popular, touristy city of Seattle. Since I like to explore cities that are off-the-beaten path, I decided to stay in Renton on my recent visit to the PNW. To book my hotel in Renton, Washington, I simply pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone and within minutes I had found the perfect hotel in the heart of Renton, and I was ready to see what this city was all about.

Lake Washington

Without a doubt, the most stunning element of Renton is Lake Washington. The city boasts sweeping views of this beautiful body of water almost anywhere you go, and I loved spending my time in Renton down at the waterfront. There are lovely little beaches and trails all over the waterfront that locals enjoy regularly, and you can even head out on the lake and see the Renton skyline by boat.

Downtown

While Renton is certainly smaller than Seattle, it still has plenty to offer in terms of arts, entertainment, shopping and dining. The downtown area of Renton is vibrant and compact, which is great if you stay in the neighborhood, since you can walk anywhere. Downtown is the place locals go for great food – and when I say great, I mean world-class restaurants. Renton actually has the highest number of restaurants per capita than any other city in Washington, including Seattle. Renton locals definitely love good food.

Mount Rainier

While you can soak in the stunning views of Mount Rainier from many viewpoints in Renton, I decided that there's no better way to experience Mount Rainier than to actually visit it. So I hopped in my rental car and made the easy drive to Mount Rainier, where I spent the day hiking and exploring this massive mountain and active volcano. There's a reason why people in the Pacific Northwest are stereotyped as outdoorsy – anyone would be outdoorsy if they lived among such beautiful nature.

HotelTonight – Hotels in Renton Washington

After just a few hours in Renton, I realized why so many people love living in Renton as opposed to Seattle. There's a certain culture and community atmosphere that you won't find in Seattle, which is one of the many reasons why I'll be sure to stay in Renton the next time I find myself in Seattle for business. And, of course, to book my last-minute hotel in Renton, Washington, I'll simply check out the selection of hotels on the HotelTonight app. I always know I can find great deals on last-minute hotels through HotelTonight.
