I was recently in Spokane for a family gathering, but I decided that I wanted to stay a bit outside of the city and get to know a new part of the area, which is why I chose to stay in Liberty Lake. I definitely didn't regret my decision, because Liberty Lake is a beautiful area that is still conveniently close to anywhere you would want to go, whether you want to pop into downtown Spokane or you want to drive to the gorgeous Coeur d'Alene Lake. Beaches
During warm summer days, Spokane locals will flock to Liberty Lake to enjoy its pretty, sandy beaches. Since I was in Liberty Lake during the summer, I took advantage of the warm weather and joined the locals at the lake. All over the lake, you'll find beautiful stretches of waterfront, where locals play beach sports and soak in the sun. And if you want to get out on the lake, you can go boating, kayaking or even sailing.
Liberty Lake Regional Park
The biggest attraction in Liberty Lake is the Liberty Lake Regional Park. This beautiful park features over 3,500 acres of forest, wetlands and lake shore, and you can even hike through the old growth forest to reach a picturesque waterfall. There's so much to enjoy outdoors in Liberty Lake, so I made the most of it. I hardly spent any time indoors while in Liberty Lake, because I didn't want to miss out on seeing any natural beauty of the area.
Shopping
Liberty Lake is actually a popular destination for shoppers in and around Spokane. At the central business center in Liberty Lake, there are a number of great shops and retailers, which is why Spokane locals often travel to Liberty Lake to shop. Since I needed to buy some hiking shoes during my stay in Liberty Lake, it was lucky that there was so much great shopping within minutes of my hotel.
