Recently, I found myself in the Ogden Utah area for business meeting, however, after arriving in the area, I found out the meeting had been canceled. Instead of just heading back home, I decided to take the opportunity to explore one of the small towns near Ogden and headed into Coalville. Thanks to the HotelTonight app, I knew I wouldn't have any problem finding a place to stay on short notice, which left me free to enjoy a fun day in Coalville.
The Area
Coalville is just a short drive from the major cities of Ogden and Salt Lake. The town is located near the Echo Reservoir, and the scenic Weber River winds its way through the town. Coalville also sits at the base of the Wasatch Front and is a great place to visit for anyone who loves the outdoors. Coalville has a great small-town feeling but is close enough to large cities to have all the conveniences you could ever need. I loved my time in Coalville and was happy I had decided to spend time in the small town.
Things to Do
There are a number of great outdoor activities in Coalville and the surrounding areas. I quickly realized that it's a great place to go for anyone who loves hiking or being near the river. I decided to start my day off with a visit to the historic Summit County Courthouse. I'd heard it was a can't-miss attraction in Coalville and was so glad I decided to go. There was a great museum there that gave an interesting look at the history of the area. After visiting it, I took a nice hike on one of the many trails near the city. It was a great chance to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of the Coalville area.
The Food
Once I'd finished my hike, I was feeling hungry and ready to get something to eat. I wanted to be sure I didn't miss the chance to eat at a great restaurant, so I asked some locals where I could get the best food in town. I was directed to a great restaurant that served homestyle cooking. The food was amazing. I ordered chicken cordon bleu, and it was one of the best meals I've eaten in a long time. I'll be sure to come back again the next time I find myself in the area.

After a fun day in the city and a great meal, I was feeling tired and ready to get some rest.
