HotelTonight – Wilsonville, Oregon Hotels Are Available

There are times when I travel that it'd be great to just get off the road for a while and enjoy a more uniform and routine-oriented pace of life. Every city I travel to for work has its share of fun and attractions that are worth the time and effort, but as I get a bit older I yearn for a lifestyle that features a bit of a slower pace. For instance, I have always had a great time traveling to and working in Portland. I look forward to the dining and the culture there. On my last trip, however, the entire last day of my meetings were canceled, which left me with 24 hours to kill. I could spend them in Portland going to my favorite spots, or I could do something else. I wanted to go see what life was like in one of those communities near Portland that offered the pace of life I craved. I decided to spend my time in Wilsonville. I wasn't concerned that I didn't have a place to stay. I always travel with HotelTonight, so I'd find a Wilsonville, Oregon hotel room as soon as I needed one.

The Community

If I were to move to Oregon for some reason in the near future, I decided immediately that Wilsonville would be one of the first places where I looked for a home. This community of just over 20,000 people seems to offer that family-oriented pace of life that I would love. That's not to say that this is a bedroom community by any stretch, however, as there is a vibrant downtown portion of the city that has quite a bit happening. However, as I walked around it was clear that this was a tightly-knit community where everyone was familiar with each other.

The Farmer's Market

I was there on a Thursday in the summer, which meant that I happened to be in Wilsonville for their Farmer's Market. As it turns out, I was in luck, as Wilsonville sits near the Tualatin Valley and other extremely fertile farming areas. I walked through the market and munched on several different kinds of fruit and homemade baked goods, all of which were scrumptious. I also got to talk to some of the locals about what life is like there. While everyone was different, one commonality is that everyone loved their home community.

The Dining

After seeing such a nice place, I wanted to eat dinner in an establishment that was also local. A lady at the Farmer's Market told me about a brewpub that offered delicious beer and some great gastropub food. I went in and the place was very modern, but comfortable. They also had more beers on tap than I could count. I had a pilsner and it was extremely tasty, and I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings to go with it. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and the entire experience was a pleasure.

HotelTonight – Wilsonville, Oregon Hotels
