HotelTonight – Rochester, MN Hotels Are Available

As a medical sales professional, whose territory covers most of the Midwest, I find myself in Rochester, Minnesota a lot. It has always seemed like a nice community, but unfortunately I wouldn't really know firsthand. That's because my typical trip to that part of the world involves flying into Minneapolis/St. Paul, renting a car, driving to Rochester and then driving back to the Twin Cities at the end of the day to catch my flight. I'd never spent any time there other than while I was working. That always bothered me. On my last trip, I was driving towards Rochester when I found out that my meetings had been canceled. Rather than turn around and head back to Minneapolis, I decided that this was my opportunity to see this community. I had 24 hours to spend there, and I was going to make the most of it. I would have to find my own place to stay that night, but that wasn't a problem at all. That's because I travel with my HotelTonight app. I'd book a Rochester, Minnesota hotel room as soon as my day was over and was ready to get some sleep.

The Nature Center

I've found that one of the best ways to get to know an area is to do some hiking in or at least near town. That's the first thing I did when I got to Rochester. I immediately went over to the Quarry Hill Nature Center and hit the trail. It was a beautiful walk among the trees and forest wildlife, and to my surprise there were some fun historical exhibits inside the main building that I looked at when I was done. This place is a museum, a nature preserve and a destination for people of all ages.

Assisi Heights

There's a big spiritual center that sits at the highest point in Rochester. I had seen signs for it many times and even caught glimpses of it while driving, but I'd never seen it up-close. I wanted to see it that day, so I drove up there. It's a stunningly beautiful set of buildings with gorgeous furnishings inside. I spoke to a nun who was there, and she gave me a brief tour, which was nice of her. Afterward, I walked around outside and took in the breathtaking views of the entire city below.

The Dining

For some reason, I was in the mood for pizza. While walking around, I spoke to a couple about a pizza joint that had been around for more than 50 years. I wanted to eat there immediately. I stopped in and the building looked like it had once been a different chain restaurant. Regardless, the pizza was delicious. It was made with a thin crust, and the spices in the sausage blended perfectly with the oozing mozzarella cheese that was almost falling off the side of every slice. I had a nice pilsner beer to go with it and really enjoyed it.

HotelTonight – Rochester, MN Hotels Near You

I was incredibly full and really happy with what I had accomplished during the day. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Rochester, MN hotel room in seconds. It was just up the road, so I walked into my room quickly and fell asleep almost immediately. What a nice day.
