HotelTonight – Danville Hotels
Recently, I had the chance to explore the city of Danville. I decided to take a break in the small town, during a long cross-country drive. I'd been on the road for hours and needed a break, so I pulled off the highway into the central Kentucky town of Danville. I knew I wouldn't have any problem finding a place to stay, thanks to the easy-to-use HotelTonight app, which left me free to enjoy the town without any worry or concern.
The Area
Danville is located in central Kentucky in the Bluegrass region and is about 45 minutes outside of Lexington. It is the main city of the Danville Micropolitan Statistical Area and is found in Boyle County. The town has a wonderful small-town feel to it while still having all the comforts of a big city, making it a great place to visit. In addition to many activities that are available to see in Danville, the town is home to a number of hiking trails and beautiful scenery. This was the first time I'd ever been in Danville, and I could tell I was going to love my day in town as soon as I pulled off the highway.
Things to Do
I started out my day with a trip to the McDowell House Museum. It was a really cool museum that gave a look at the way life was in the early 1800s. The museum is dedicated to Dr. Ephraim McDowell, who was a doctor in the area during the early 1800s. I left the museum and headed to another historical sight in town, the Constitution Square Historic Site. The square is full of old historical buildings and information about the early history of the town. It was very informative and also really interesting. Danville is a great stop for anyone who loves history.
The Food
When I visit a new city, I always love to try the best of the local food, so I asked some locals where I should have dinner at. Several people suggested a little place called Tut's Restaurant, so I headed there. The restaurant features Mediterranean, Greek and Middle Eastern food and everything on the menu looked amazing. I ordered a shawarma that was so good. The lamb was tender and everything was perfectly flavored and cooked. I'll make sure to eat there again the next time I'm in Danville.

After dinner, I was ready to relax and unwind for the night. The next day, I woke up feeling great and hit the road, ready to finish my long drive. I'm so glad to have stopped in Danville, as it was just what I needed.
