HotelTonight — Wallace Hotels in Wallace

Growing up in southern Idaho, I've always known that the panhandle was beautiful. But had only driven through the area on my way to visit family in Washington. A few months ago, while making the long drive to Washington, I decided to break up the long drive and spend the day in a small town in northern Idaho and relax. I pulled into Wallace, Idaho in the morning and thanks to the HotelTonight app, was able to find a place to stay in no time. During my day in the panhandle, I was able to take in some great sights, visit a few nice local shops and fully immerse myself in the beauty of northern Idaho. Spending a day in Wallace was a great way to relax after a long drive and to gear up for the last leg of my trip and the HotelTonight app made it so easy to do.

What Makes Wallace Special

Wallace is a sleepy little town in northern Idaho and is known for its historic buildings and gorgeous scenery. When I first arrived in the town I was amazed by the scenery and old buildings. It almost had a feeling of being in a Swiss village. There are a number of things to do and see in Wallace. The small town has a great deal of history and is closely associated with silver mining. After I arrived in Wallace, I spent some time walking up and down the streets, window shopping and looking at some of the old buildings that line the historic district. As I walked up and down the streets I felt as if I'd been sent back in time. It seemed as if I were transported back to a different time.

The Area

For being such a small town, there are countless things to do in Wallace. I noticed ads for a zip line park and a number of signs pointing toward hiking paths. But I decided to get a feel for the area's history and visited a few museums in town. Wallace is home to several silver mining museums, but I opted to visit the Northern Pacific Depot Museum, which is dedicated to the history of the railroad in Wallace. The museum was great and once again, when I walked in I felt like I was a time traveler. The whole museum was made to look like a working railroad depot. It was a great experience that I will fondly look back on in the future.

The Food

After taking in the sights at the museum, I decided it was time to get something to eat. A few blocks from where the museum is, I found several great local restaurants. There was a number of places to choose from, but eventually, I decided to eat at the Blackboard Cafe. The cafe had a great menu and the food was fantastic. The restaurant also boasted a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which made it the perfect place to eat, during a day of relaxation.

HotelTonight — Wallace Hotels are Available

After eating, I decided it was time to get some rest. Thanks to the HotelTonight app, I didn't have to worry about trying to find a reservation at the last minute, or about expensive prices and fees. I got on the app and within minutes I was headed to the hotel. My day in Wallace proved to be the perfect way to relax before finishing up my drive to Washington.
