HotelTonight – Find Great Hotels in Plano Texas

During a recent road trip through Texas, I found myself in the vibrant city of Plano. Even though it's just 20 miles away from downtown Dallas, Plano has a completely different vibe and culture, which is why I loved it so much – and it's why locals love it so much, too. Plano is a popular place because it has a great community, fantastic attractions and entertainment, and a booming economy. As soon as I visited Plano, I knew that I wanted to stay in Plano over Dallas, because I wanted to get a feel for this region of Texas that most visitors usually don't experience. To book my hotel in Plano, I simply pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone. After a few scrolls and taps on my phone, I had booked a great hotel in Plano, Texas, and I was ready to explore this affluent city for myself.

Downtown Arts District

Historic downtown Plano is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and this vibrant district combines the best of history and vintage charm with a hip urban feel and trendy dining scene. This neighborhood is also known as the Arts District, where you'll find great live music and public art installations, which help give the area a distinctly modern vibe. I loved staying near the downtown Plano Arts District, because I felt that this district was really the heart of the city.

Oak Point Park

Plano is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Texas, which is why locals love to get out and immerse themselves in nature whenever they can. One of the best places to enjoy natural beauty nearby Plano is Oak Point Park, which is an 800-acre nature preserve that features hiking and biking trails and picnic areas, as well as canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

The Boardwalk

Even though you're nowhere near the beach, you can still find a great boardwalk in Plano. The picturesque Granite Park boardwalk provides the laidback feel of a beach town boardwalk, and it's a favorite hangout spot for locals. The boardwalk offers great restaurants with patio dining and a beautiful outdoor path that's perfect for a leisurely stroll. The boardwalk was one of my favorite things about Plano, because it's such a unique district, and you won't find anything else like it in Texas.

This city is full of charm, beauty and entertainment, but I mostly loved its easygoing vibes. It didn't take me long to realize why Plano is one of the most desirable places to live in this region of Texas. I would love to return to Plano one day so that I can continue exploring this exciting city, and if I do return, I'll be sure to book my next Plano hotel through HotelTonight.
