HotelTonight – Great Deals on Last-Minute Hotels in Cody Wyoming

On a recent road trip through Wyoming, I ended up in the small town of Cody for a lunch break. Before I had even received my food at the restaurant, I already knew I wanted to spend more time in this unique Western town. So without thinking twice, I pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone and booked a last-minute hotel in Cody. I had wanted to extend my stay in Wyoming, anyway, since I had already fallen in love with the gorgeous natural scenery all over the state. So when I discovered Cody, I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to really get to know this small Wyoming town. And since I always have the convenience of HotelTonight in my pocket, I knew I could book a great hotel nearby in a matter of minutes.

Cowboy Culture

The town of Cody was founded by Colonel William Cody, better known as Buffalo Bill – yes, that Buffalo Bill. Thus, cowboy culture and western heritage runs deep in Cody, and you can learn more about it at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, which is comprised of five separate museums. There's so much to do and see at this historical center that I could have easily spent an entire day there, but I had to cut my visit short so that I could go explore the historic Old Trail Town, a collection of historic pioneer buildings that have perfectly preserved. After just one day in Cody, I felt like I really understood what life was like back in the days of the Wild West.

Outdoor Recreation

Given its location in Wyoming, Cody is a haven for outdoors enthusiasts. The surrounding natural landscapes provide boundless outdoors recreation, from fishing and kayaking to hiking and hunting. If you ever have a craving for breathtaking nature and limitless outdoor activities, consider taking a trip to Wyoming.

Yellowstone

Cody is one of the best home bases for exploring the famed Yellowstone National Park. During my stay in Cody, I decided that I couldn't be this close to Yellowstone without visiting, so I made the short drive to the park's east entrance and immediately realized I made the right decision. Yellowstone is one of the most celebrated national parks for a reason – it's absolutely breathtaking. Plus, it's home to unique sights like the Old Faithful geyser and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

HotelTonight – Plan Your Wyoming Trip By Booking a Hotel in Cody

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't extend my stay in Cody for one night – I would extend it for two. There was simply too much to do and see in the area, so I couldn't do it all in one day. Fortunately, I know I can always plan a return trip to Cody, and I also know that I can book a great last-minute hotel in Cody through HotelTonight. So the next time my schedule frees up, I'll hit the road and make my way toward the beautiful state of Wyoming, and I'll have my handy HotelTonight app at the ready.
