HotelTonight – Book Your Costa Mesa Hotel Today

Located in between Los Angeles and San Diego, Costa Mesa is a major hub of entertainment and activity in Orange County. Locals from all over the OC visit Costa Mesa when they're looking for great shopping, dining and entertainment, which is why I decided to stay in Costa Mesa during my recent trip to Orange County. To book a hotel in Costa Mesa, I simply relied on HotelTonight, my handy app that helps me find great last-minute hotels whenever and wherever I travel. After just a few minutes scrolling through the HotelTonight app, I had booked a great hotel in the heart of Costa Mesa, so I was ready to get to know this OC hotspot for myself.

The Arts and Theater District

Costa Mesa has earned the nickname "The City of the Arts" thanks to its vibrant arts and theater district. This Orange County hub is home to a number of museums, performing arts venues and visual art installations. Notable venues include the Renee & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, the South Coast Repertory and the Samueli Theater. I was lucky enough to be in town for a performance by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and I immediately understood why Costa Mesa has developed such a strong reputation for its arts scene.

Outdoor Recreation

Costa Mesa's location in the heart of Orange County makes it a great destination to visit for anybody looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. There are many public parks and outdoor spaces that locals take advantage of during beautiful days (which is almost every day here in Orange County), such as the 208-acre Fairview Park, TeWinkle Park and, of course, Newport Beach, which is just west of Costa Mesa. Newport Beach is one of the prettiest beaches in Southern California, and I made sure to enjoy some sunshine and some salt water during my Costa Mesa getaway.

South Coast Plaza

One of the attractions Costa Mesa is best known for is South Coast Plaza. This famed upscale shopping center attracts locals from all over Southern California, and it's world-renowned for its incredible collection of retailers. South Coast Plaza has everything from luxury brands to more affordable retailers, and it's also home to many great restaurants, which makes it such a staple of entertainment and activity in Costa Mesa.

There's so much to do and see in Costa Mesa that you can never be bored, but the Orange County town still has a laidback vibe. I now know why Costa Mesa locals love their unique little town so much, and I felt very fortunate to be able to explore Costa Mesa during my recent trip.
