Beautiful hotel, great room and really nice amenities — including a beautiful pool and nice gym. Unfortunately, downtown San Francisco is in a terrible state these days…not an appropriate area for children.

Room was small and rather dingy, with dated decor and what seemed like mildew stains under the sink in the bathroom. The area did not feel at all safe. I arrived around midnight and the entrance was locked - the valet informed me I’d need to buzz to gain entrance which felt unwelcoming and strange given the area isn’t exactly the safest.
