Why We Like It

  • Given the name & locale (historic 1880 Portsmouth Brewing Co.), it’s no surprise that a welcome beer awaits (from local Smuttynose Brewery!).
  • The place lives up to its accolades from the Wall Street Journal and Bon Appétit, with Dwell linens, Lather bath amenities and house bikes.
  • No doilies and floral fabrics here, no siree. It’s more of an urban loft vibe, with foot-thick brick walls and modern decor.

This was the best experience. Check in was a breeze and we loved the room!

Great location with super attentive staff. Functional cozy rooms. The on tap nitro coffee was to die for. The corkscrew and the growler in your room are great for multiple day stays if you wanna sample some of the fine local beers back at the inn.

Very basic room with paper thin walls. Overactive central AC that could only be controlled by standing on a chair and adjusting ceiling vents. Coffee but no breakfast available. Not terrible, but hardly a bargain.
