Yes, the hotel is old and the building is tired. There are some oversights that just seem silly (like overgrown weeds in the pool area). With that said, the lobby and rooms are updated and comfortable, and I found the service to be really great.

This hotel was in very good shape, recently renovated, my room was nice, hotel staff were professional and quick, restaurant was pretty good. The fitness room was a nice bonus. Free airport shuttle was convenient.
