COVID-19 Information

We understand there is a large amount of uncertainty regarding travel because of the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and know you may have questions about what this means for HotelTonight bookings.

HotelTonight facilitates bookings between guests and hotel partners, who typically offer discounted rates on a non-cancellable, non-refundable basis. Because HotelTonight does not own or manage inventory, we are working closely with hotel partners in an effort to facilitate cancellations without penalty and refunds for bookings impacted by the global pandemic. We are implementing a temporary exception to our cancellation policy as follows:

Reservations made on or before March 14, 2020

Reservations made on or before March 14, 2020, with a check-in date within the next 45 days from today, may be cancelled before check-in.

Reservations made on or before March 14, 2020, with a check-in date more than 45 days from today, will not have any changes to their cancellation policy, unless the guest has contracted COVID-19.

Reservations made after March 14, 2020

Reservations made after March 14, 2020 will not have their cancellation policy changed, except where the guest has contracted COVID-19. Please remember to review the cancellation policy for your reservation before booking. If you are unsure about your travel plans, consider waiting to book until you have more certainty.

This temporary exception also applies to bookings for guests who must change or cancel travel and can provide documentation for the following scenarios:

  • In order to comply with disease control restrictions implemented by relevant governmental or health authorities;
  • In order to perform medical or disease control duties in connection with the COVID-19 outbreak;
  • As a result of flight or ground transportation cancellations initiated by an airline or ground transportation provider due to the COVID-19 outbreak; or
  • In the event that they are diagnosed or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 by a medical or health authority.

Reservations made at hotels temporarily closed due to COVID-19:

Existing HotelTonight bookings made at hotels that have temporarily closed operations due to COVID-19 will be cancelled. You will receive an email notification if your booking is impacted.

We will continue to assess the situation and will update this information as matters progress.
